Today - Wanting to be 'Employee of the month' 20 years back - Quarterly exams. Today - Quarterly results. 20 years back - Annual School Magazine. Today - Company Annual Report. 20 years back - Annual exams. Today - Annual appraisals. 20 years back - Pocket money. Today - Salary. 20 years back - Running after grades and prize cups. Today - Running after incentives and promotions. 20 years back - Craving for the latest toy in the market. Today - Craving for the latest gadget in the market 20 years back - Eager to watch the latest cartoon show. Today - Eager to watch the latest blockbuster. 20 years back - Crush on class mate. Today - Crush on colleague. So essentially nothing has changed!!

Gratitude

Gratitude People say I'm positive, It's my attitude. I confess but I prefer To say it's gratitude, That's the word that fits it best.   I'm just forever thankful For all I have surrounding me, For if gratitude is just Positive attitude, then what You believe, becomes reality.   When people strive for nothing else, but wealth and acquisitions. .. They give up simple pleasures just to satisfy ambitions.   Happiness cannot be bought, as many can attest Yet simple things, that still are free, provide pleasure the best.   A sunrise full of color, warm breeze upon the face The diamonds of a morning dew all have their special place.   The music of a songbird at evening whippoorwill The rainbow after the storm is past can make the heart stand still.   Life's greatest pleasures all around, a bit of time their cost yet people tend to hurry past So beauty is all lost.   Too busy running down life's road, that seems to have no end Take time to look around you while there is time, my friend.

Conquer Doubt

Are your doubts holding you back? The way to conquer your doubts is with action.   Wondering about whether you can do it will not get it done.  The only way to know for sure is to jump right in and get started.   Avoiding the challenges will only make those challenges grow bigger.  Instead, walk right up to each challenge, and the closer you get,  the more ways you'll discover to get beyond it.   If you wait until conditions are perfect, all you'll ever do is wait. Great accomplishments are given birth by starting from  where you are with what you have.   As soon as you start to take action, you'll begin to replace your doubts  with courage and confidence. The more you do, the more insignificant and powerless those doubts will become.   Stop wondering and start doing. Once you've done it  you'll always know, without the slightest doubt,  that you can.

The Wise Woman

Sometimes it's not the wealth you have but what's inside you that Others need.... A wise woman, who was traveling in the mountains, found a precious Stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveler, who was hungry. The wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler Saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did So without hesitation. The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone Was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise Woman. "I've been thinking," he said. "I know how valuable this stone Is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even More precious. Please give me what you have within you that enabled You to give me this stone."

Embrace Your Best Possibilities

Anger is a way of avoiding the things that will really bring Fulfillment to your life. So is resentment.   In fact, so are envy, procrastination, perfectionism, Apathy, overindulgence, and a whole lot of other negative Behaviors and attitudes. They all enable you to avoid the Fulfillment of your true purpose.   Why would you want to avoid that fulfillment? Because it Feels more comfortable to just stay where you are.   But comfort is highly overrated. Deep down, you don't really Want just comfort.   Deep down, you have a burning desire to express the unique And magnificent person you truly are. Deep down, your spirit Longs to soar to heights that you cannot even imagine.   What feels like comfort now, will soon become regret, but You don't have to let that happen. Stop hiding from your Purpose, embrace your best possibilities, and give life the Beautiful meaning that you know it can have.

Life Has Purpose   Life keeps coming toward you at a rapidly increasing pace. And you can make use of it all. Each day arrives bearing problems, promises, pleasures, beauty, frustration, Inspiration and overwhelming details. Find something positive and fulfilling to do With all that valuable raw material. The criticism you receive, the insights that suddenly hit you, the tedious chores, And the wondrous moments all have their place. The boredom, the excitement, the fear, the confidence, the hot and the cold, The weariness and the joy add real, priceless substance to your life. You can take it all and make it all into something great. Whatever energy comes your way is yours to channel and to apply as you see fit. There is a bright and wonderful purpose to your life. And everything in your life can serve, in one way or another, to advance that purpose. In all its different aspects, life just keeps on coming. And you can keep on making it great.

ADVICE ON LIFE

ADVICE ON LIFE In three words I can sum up everything that I learned about life:  "It goes on." When the going gets tough, make yourself realize that no matter what  your problem is, someone is and always will be fighting a harder battle.   Tears don't help problems, and whining won't make things better.  Have faith but understand that faith makes things possible, not easier.  Have hope but understand without doing anything nothing gets done.   Be there when people need you, because in order to have friends  you must first be one. Make the impossible, possible.  Never give up! You only fail when you fail to try.   Keep an open mind; you never know what you may learn.  Never compromise your standards for anyone, do it for you.  Remember that laughter makes the world go round.  Beware of the person who has nothing to lose, see through the problem to find the solution. Don't make promises you can't keep.   Keep in mind, those who gossip to you will gossip about you.  Say only what you mean, and don't believe everything you hear  because some day the story will be about you.   Everyday is a gift, even if it sucks. Count your blessings,  not your troubles.  Never waste an opportunity to tell someone that you love them,  because you never know what tomorrow has in store for you.   Give people a second chance, because no one is perfect.  Love all that you can, give all that you have, smile away  your days, and dream away your nights. Life, what a wonderful thing!

Make the Most

Be honest with yourself, and with everyone else as well.  There are some things you like and other things you dislike, and that's just fine.   Be fully accepting of yourself, and of others as well. You are who you are,  with your dreams and passions, preferences and interests, and each person is delightfully unique.   What you run from or hide from or seek to deny,  grows bigger and more influential as a result.  By getting things out in the open, by seeing them for what  they truly are, you become free of their control.   You are where you are and life is the way it is.  The more completely you accept it, the more power you have to do something about it.   This moment carries enormous opportunity.  No positive purpose is served by fighting against it.   Instead, accept what is, the way you are, the way you feel,  and the things that life has brought to you. Then you can make the very most of it all.

Have Direction

Winners Vs. Quitters You block your dream when you allow your  fear to grow bigger than your faith.     The world is your garden from which you remove weeds of doubt  and replace them with seeds of hope.        A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances But rather a person with a certain set of attitudes.        Remember, people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions.  You may have a heart of gold -- but so does a hard-boiled egg.       Quitters make excuses for quitting. Winners make reasons for winning. When you spend your time making reasons to win...  You'll never have an excuse to quit.       Success is going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.   If yesterday was lost in grief, don't lose today and  tomorrow by keeping it in your memory.        Most of the important things in the world have been accomplished by  people who have kept on trying when there seemed to be no hope at all.                                           Half of the troubles of this life can be traced to saying  yes too quickly and not saying no soon enough.
